Son of Trials 18 & 19 March

the event organises said they hope for more entrants next year , alls i am saying is that allowing 35's in will allow more people in , not saying to make the tracks harder , they were fine the way they were .
so you don't run 35's no lockers etc etc , so everyone that does must be hardcore comp hardened drivers than ?
i competed in the nissan trials in 04 in my zook and it is not the type of comp id liketo take the family gu into 35's or not , just because i have 35's lockers f/r and crawler gears etc (33 on road and no lockers used in trials) doesn't mean i go hard nor does it mean im a poser , i just prefer to have my car set up so i don't find my self in trouble, and shaw maybe some of us do do a few hard tracks etc but my missus dosnt , so what do i do ? buy her her own 4x4 to compete or throw her into woodpecker cause shes driving a rig with big scary 35's
seriously if they say only 33's fine thats there decision i was just putting forth what i believe to be contructive feedback , they also said 4"suspension yeah right , most of those rigs at the comp were not basic starting out 4x4ers , just because they had 33's or smaller .
i don't understand what you are all scared off ? if the comp stays nice and simple and allowed 49" tyres who cares as long as its designed with the smaller more basic cars in mind, the big rigs would probably get bored and eventually play else where but at least anyone could play and there would be more numbers .
T.B you said you go were all the modified trucks in your club go so
a) obviously tyres don't make that much difference
b) you are ready to drive in full blown comps or
c) your club trips are all to the local shopping mall and back
no offense meant in any of this
one last note i wonder how much hard stuff the winner is used to driving (tsl's ,tube bar front, tube bar rear , rock sliders ?) far from what i imagined as an entry level vehicle it got me hard in all the right places ) very nice rig

Zookjedi,
a) I comp & drive on muddies, not like a lot of others in my class who used, & in other comps use specialised tyres.
b) yes, I would love to compete in Nissan Trials, but don't see the point in running 6" suspension in std class, as the top guys do.
c) mmm. via Mt Sugarloaf, one of the best track systems on the N.S.W coast.
P.S. I agree that I would like to have seen a more technical 4wd section on the tracks, but this comp was all about the driver being able to get the least penalty points, & showing that they new how to do that in their truck. You said how easy it was, & how nice Sean's GU is, but you too drove a GU. I don't see how you too shouldn't have nearly the same points, all except for the blind fold challenge. I don't think the Nissan club have yet put up a full list of placings, but it would be interesting to see how some of the more fancied trucks went in the standings....
By the way, the Auspit works a treat.........

Pick the line and DRIVE IT !
yes the driving tracks were easy and i liked them like that , i hardley drive our gu i usally drive my zook and yes i am interested in the points , but why should i be near 1st place in points too just cause the winner also drove a gu ? i am not saying i am a good driver i am not saying i know what im doing , i am just saying the courses were easy (not easy to get 0 but easy enough to get close to it) and i thought having the courses easy was a GOOD thing so people such as my wife etc wounldn't get intimidated , dont take what i said out of context , im not saying make it harder , im not saying the comp was TOO easy (making it boring) , i am not saying anything negative i can see except to change the blind fold event , and the possiblity of allowing rigs with bigger tyres in to increase the numbers .
my gu and seans i would think would be different ? i don't know? i only just got the marks gears in a couple of weeks ago and with no lockers allowed i was running open centres no limited slip diff (not that there was anything that needed a lsd) i run a 2" lift and 33mtr's at about %60 life left , i have nothing but a nissan alloy bar up front to protect the body from any possible damage i would think our cars and seat time are pretty different , but i guess with your way of thinking all the gq's should be close to tied in the points as well ?
apart from all this i don't see how my placing has any thing to do with what i have posted to date? as i have said before i was just offering some feedback on the event but obviously not everyones opinion counts , i'll just go back to work and talk to the narrow minded boss there (at least im paid for it )
cheers Jai
