Have only heard good news about these.
A mate got one for around $900 fitted (2nd hand) and he's very happy with it. Tow's the camper so much easier and better off road.

There's plenty of feedback on the Dtronic unit on Exploroz. Was asking the same question myself just recently. Seems all good from what I have read, with most pple being very impressed, although it voids warranty.
There is another mob offering a similar product, but the Dtronic unit seems to be the most popular.

If you asked Nissan they would say a dual battery system, driving lights, or pretty much any modification would void warrenty. But they would have to prove that that item caused the problem.

It would only take a few minutes to remove it before taking back to Nissan if there was something wrong. I wouldn't be worrying about that.

I purchased a dtronic last week. I drove to melb with a trailer, loaded it, plugged the dtronic in and headed back home. What I noticed was that it held gears on hills. No need to change back. The extra pwr towing is very noticable and makes driving more of a pleasure instead of slowing down to 90 or changing back a gear. I only changed back a gear once on the hill at Glenrowan. Normal driving, i find you dont need to slip clutch as much to get off the mark. Turbo spins earlier hence not the lag like before. I would recomend one now that i have one.

I have had one in my GU for over 12 months now. Awesome! I tow nearly every day and it s worth the money. I also have dual aircon, and with the dtronic the lag is nowhere near as noticeable.

Sorry for hijack .....

But all youse with the 3l turbo's are you happy with what the 3l has to offer ( I realise the added avantage with the d tronic and simliar other upgrade units) but in standard form what are its downfalls if any ( other than slight lack of power) ie fuel ,reliability,... towing say a car loaded float or offroad camper

there is a stack of these around particualary the 2001 mods (from this year make up are the good 1/s correct? no motor issues as yet ? to arrise ......

I need a family 4wd of which it main duties will be medium family 4wd trips ....and towing of a comp rig maybe eventually offroad camper

thanks
