So now my shoes are totally stuffed, got sum from repco for $31, but have never changed em b4. Is it hard? Any tips? I know I have to check the cylinder for leaks b4 I put the new ones in...

Drum brakes are VERY EASY if you have the right tools. People tend to struggle with the retaining springs, which has lead to the general consensus that they're a shit to work on.
Get yourself a decently-sized pair of sidecutters (like the one's below) and you'll find you can do the whole job in under 10 minutes, with skin on your knuckles intact
If you have ANY doubts about which way things go back on, then make sure you do one side at a time (so you have the other side for reference) and/or take some digital pics of it before you start.

Let me enlighten you.
A month and a half or so ago, on a club trip, I ended up in about 4 ft of water. Under this was a bit of mud. With about a foot of water through the Rocky, things got a bit sticky and smelly.
When time permitted, a week or so later, changing the oils revealed water in both diffs, transfer case, and PTO drive. But damage done, a whine somewhere in the final drivetrain. replacing the bearing on the output in the transfer case helped a bit. But, still not got rid of the whine completely.
Now the week before Easter we head off up north, to Mackay, Charters Towers, Innisfail and Townsville. We head back from Townsville Easter Monday, get to Rockhampton where gearbox decides enough is enough, and dies completely. No drive. A generous friend from Rocky tows our camper back to Gladstone with us on board that night, then organises a trailer to bring my Rocky home Tuesday. I had ridden my bike up there Tuesday to assist him. While there I see a SWB F70 for sale, no rego, a bit sad. The offer goes to the owner, and he accepts. $1000 for the complete vehicle, which will donate its gearbox and transfer case to mine to get it back on the road.
So the SWB MAY get looked at, as a first vehicle for my daughter who just turned 17 yesterday, but it has heaps of rust so it may be beyond salvage. Only time will tell. Its good points, on the road the only noise is tyres and wind, no whines from drivetrain at all, its got a good alloy bullbar on it, and a set of 5 mags with varying degrees of worn MTR tyres on them.
