hilux 4wd and 2wd cabs

is all the body mounting brakets from 81 4wd hilux the same as 81 2wd hilux?

i know that the front one are different but are all the back ones the same

Yep they fit you will have to cut a hole for the transfer case shifter and trim over the stearing boxfor clearance

ok cool

will i know for sure that i have to unpick the front body mount brakets and tack them to the 2wd cab
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

All the cab mounts between 2wd and 4wd are identical. So you wont have to modify anything.

i was looking at a 2wd today and looked at my 4wd and on my 4wd the body mounting brakets go up above the front sping hanget and 2wd one are back abit and hang off the chassis rail about 2"

Here is two pics, 1st is a 4wd 1st gen body mount bolted on the chassis.

The 2nd is the cab alone, if you are using a 4WD chassis but putting the 2WD body on, i would try as you said and cut off the front mount off your 4wd cab and weld this on to the radiator support panel on the 2WD cab. The 4 other cab mounts will bolt up without any troubles.

2nd gen onwards they are the same between 2WD and 4WD, 1st gens are funny.

i have allready cut the mounts off will weld them on some time this week

(i didn't think building a toy was so much hard work well not hard just time consuimg. i think i'll stick to engine conversions )
