Ironman lift kits
Ironman lift kits
Hello guys.
I have a friend in Spain who bought a set of Australian made Ironman lifted spring leaves for his samurai (sierra with the steerig wheel in the left side). The problem is that the front ones seem to be higher but shorter causing the front shaft to make noises as it is just long enough to be installed between the transfer and the front diff. So he tried to drive the car and it started to make clanking and grinding noises so he just stopped the car and put the old leaves back.
I have read here about the back leaves of ironman being hard, and apparently badly designed.
Can someone give me a feedback about the front ones??? It is a 5" lift kit.
Regards.
Will

i think tere is a left and right side because one side id mountedup the pumkin a little and yes i have heard that one is shorter than the other aswell, try swapping side to side. plenty of sprung overs have little drive shaft issues(roughly 3-4'' lift)

Thanks for the replies guys.
I called my friend so he could explain me better the situation. The problem is the opposite of what I thought. After he installed the Ironman springs the front axle seems to have moved backwards, so the front shaft is too long to engage with the transfer.
Anyway, he has almost convinced the supplier of giving him a new set of OME springs.
The car is now in the shop and they are checking that his claim is genuine, also they want to take pictures and measurements to return them to the importer.
