Adjusting Hilux clutch

hi guys, need a bit of help adjusting the clutch pedal on my 83 hilux,the haynes manual doesent make it very clear (or im just stupid)

I think theres no adjustment on it

the only adjustment is at the mastercylinder
up under the dash and were the rod connects to the clutch pedal n go's threw the firewall

and the adjustment is to have a bit of free travel on the pedal so the the rod is not apllying pressure to the mastercylinder

and the slave cylinder on the gbox isn't adjustable

hi mate,
have tried bleeding the clutch a couple of times but doesnt seem to be making a difference,i can start the car with the clutch in and drive it but i cannot get enough out of the clutch to change gears

one you cylinder is prob f***ed.
new clutch master cylinder set me back about $40 and a new slave cylinder the same about 5months ago....

Sounds like either you slave cylinder has gone, or master cylinder or both... my slave just went for the second time in 15 months, they are $35 from repco and relatively easy to replace... squeeze the piston boot and if fluid comes out that will be your problem.

i have a ln106 hilux, i put a heavy duty clutch. When i finished installing it i blead the clutch, started the car and couldn't get it into gear.
Basically the slave cylinder did not have enough stroke to diengauge the clutch...

What most people don't know (i didn't and repair manuals don't say) is that there is an adjustment on tha underside of the pedal.

Providing that yours is the same (should be) you remove the 'r' clip, disengauge the pedal, undo the lock nut and adjust it so that you are adjusting the pedal away from the floor, which means it will push the slave cylinder further...

I don't know if this helps but that is what i experienced and i hope it helps in some way..

thanks for all the replies guys,after having a close look at the slave cylinder i realised that i dont have both the bolts in the holes that mount it, one has been snapped off and will need to be removed,this was causing the slave cylinder piston to push out at a strange angle,so thaat may be part of the problem
also when i push the fork in by hand there is almost no movent in the direction that the piston is pushing,but it will pull back and push the piston back inside the cylinder
is that how it is supposed to be?

ok i have bled the clutch about 5 times,still no difference,i can occasionaly grab reverse but it crunches into gear,if i start with the vehicle in gear then i can move it but i cant get it in or out of gear while running.
help would be really great as i am about 2 torch the POS
