Post by chook05 »

I`ve done a search and can`t find anything, I`m trying to find out what sort of economy people are geting from v8 petrol chevs in landcruisers running on gas. Im looking at buying a 60 series 350 on gas.

SWB MQ Patrol with a 350 Chev.........

Pending on how I drive it ......... from 110 lits of LPG .........

Driving hard the worst Ive had is 210Ks from the tank !

Driving for ecconomy ( if there is such a thing from a V8 chev ) I've managed to get 520K's from the tank

On average .......... around the 380K's per tank

Those are on road figures....................................................

Halve em for off roard use

recently someone with the username "350_60series" joined the board - it might be worth shooting them a pm?

personally I don't think a 350 is an engine you consider if you care about fuel economy.

DAZ has a 383 (stoked 350) in his shorty 40 and the worst he gets is 3k per lt. Highway, towing caravan, 4x4ing doesn`t matter the WORST is 3ks to 1lt. I think on the highway its up around 6 or 7 ks to 1lt, just ask him he`ll tell you exact figures if you want them.

Thank guys just trying to work out if the sellers giving me the right figures. 350 kms for $40 gas at 50cpl does that seem ok?. I know you dont buy a chevy for economy. It will be a weekend toy more than a daily driver.

i was driving a petrol/gas troopy that would return approximately 110km city/130 highway out of a 45L (~$25-$30) tank.

lol yeah right ;) . Old motor was the same. Out of 60 litres of petrol they only get about 350 kays. Do a search if you dont beleive me, Plenty of people say the same. My motor actually uses less gas now that i retimed it to suit. I went to a EFI manifold but still need to get dizzy regraphed.

Cheers

I think I'm doing around 350km to a 90 litre tank of petrol in my 75 series truck, don't drive it hard but the 4bbl holley is pretty tired.
