ARB Bar to Winch bar - clues

Post by ARangie »

I've got myself a ARB STD bar to suit my 85 Rangie. I need to mod it to fit a winch and the body lift.

I can work off photo's for the front gussets, but it would help if I had a photo or know how the winch plate was mounted.

Is the winch plate welded in postion or is it bolted, is it 5mm thick or 4mm there should be some gussets too.

Email me any photo's you may have of the inside of the bar.

One other thing. Is the winch mounted with the mounts facing down or forward. Cause if I mount it it down I will need more bracing, and if I mountit with mounts forward it will be hard to get the clutch, cause my cheapy winch does not offer adjustment.

Why not just build a cradle out of 8mm plate that goes inbetween your chassis rails, that way no mods (except hole for fairlead) to the bar and a damn sight easier and quicker
Wanted: Car trailer or beaver tail truck, let me know what you got
