inner axle oil seal removal

what's the easiest, quickest way to get these out of the front housing without any specialised tools, without marking the housing, and with the least amount of swearing involved??

Home made slide hammer.

600mm length of threaded rod, couple of nuts and thick washer at one end, same on other end with old steel body lift block as hammer. slide 'hammer' back and forth to remove seal (round washer shouldn't damage seal surface with a bit of electrical tape around it) and yell triumphantly 'WHO DA MAN!' YEAH!

tried the slide hammer bit last week ...gave up and hit the seal inwards with a screwdriver to bend it out of shape and it then came out by hand.

I should have changed all the seals when I swapped the knuckles over to the MQ stuff, but I didn't know if I should buy an MQ kit or GQ kit for all the stuff in the knuckle itself.. Now that I have done it I know that all the GQ seals fit back into the MQ knuckle, so I get to pull it all apart again! Joy!
