38's on GQ?
38's on GQ?
38's on a gq how much trimming is required to fit them?[pics] would be good.
Re: 38's on GQ?
with what lift?superzuki wrote:38's on a gq how much trimming is required to fit them?[pics] would be good.
theres a good amount of trimming to fit 35's with a 3in sus/ 2 body...
talk to Ryan, he has them on his shorty.
Re: 38's on GQ?

Why are you going with 38, could you possibly get away with using 35 or 36 instead.

My GQ is 3" susp, 2" BL, and I only had to cut a small amount from the rear of the front guards for the 36" Swampers (TSL's) and none on the rear, except on the inner arch. This is without the factory flares or mudflaps.nzdarin wrote:Are you talking 35 radials (34") or real 35's. With 35x11.5 Simex you need to cut front guards quite a bit with a 3"+2" lift.

Re: 38's on GQ?
Rubs now and then.... that would rub going over a speed bump. I have 35's on mine with a 5 " lift and it scrubs enough. Anywhere you would need any flex surely that would scrubTEAM FK wrote:

Re: 38's on GQ?
I'm running 37s on mine and it has a 6inch spring lift and 2 inch body. I've cut the rear quarters off and removed the factory guards and used garden edging from bunnings instead.superzuki wrote:38's on a gq how much trimming is required to fit them?[pics] would be good.
I've put GU diffs in and have about 2.5 inch offset rims and it only scrubs the tiniest bit at full flex.
I can get more flex out of it before it starts rubbing though. 38 or even 40s would fit pretty easily with this lift too.
Cheers Mick.

You must class that car park as a 'very hard track' cos its just about scrubbing out just sitting there.

38's on mine don't scrub at all.
42" IROKS scrub on tray on big flex and top of front spring mounts at full lock with no wheel spacers on standard off set rims.
46" claws scrub pretty hard on rear of guards when flexing.
No guard chop on mine

Ive got 5 inch coils that flex realy well and 33s and they hit inner guard rear /rear of front guard and you can fit a cigarete paper between the rest on flex so the only place i could fit 38s would be on the roof if i didnt want them to touch the guards

I ran Silverstone MT117 Xtreme in the Kiwi Challenge last year. Very good tyre if you have a slippery hard surface ie wet clay but if it is soft they dig holes like nothing you have seen. Compare them to a Simex and you'll see why.
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)
