Jabber on JT2's.............

Post by Bitsamissin »

Well got them last night 34x11.5x15". Thanks Locky for a very good deal ;)
Geesuz they are noisy compared to the BFG's, may have to upgrade the stereo me thinks
Tested out clearance, looks ok at the rear 0.5" clearance around the guard at full compression (axle resting on the bumpstop). The front looks ok to, may have to trim the ends of the bullbar though, won't know till we bolt it back on next weekend.
Look out Cockpit Creek Tk you are soon to be Jabbered

Nice Frank, you won't know yourself. You will have to give rocky a shot now.

The rims are 15x8" ROH Trac 2's, Locky has a tube protector welded in and then they are powder coated in either black or silver.

Frank,

Let us know how your gearing suffers. I know you had plans of addressing this but would be interested on how you go before any changes ...

Cheers.

Hey Kris, yeah I'd say it's lost a gear driving around onroad.
Won't fully know about low range until Toolangi on sunday.
The fix is 5.29's, I have 4.88's and a 5sp but it maybe time to do the conversion.
The rear is easy, straight crownwheel & pinion swap (a mate has a spare he will sell me) the front is a bit more complicated. There is no bolt in 5.29 for the high pinion 8" super select front diff. You have to swap over to the earlier 8" low pinion non super select V6 front diff (not hard) and there is a 5.29 crownheel & pinion for this diff. My mate also has an early front diff to sell but I'll have to buy the new front 5.29 ($520 from Mitsu).

Yes "God of Thunder" it is, but everyone's in the same boat with much larger tyres than stock. But as you say it is definitely worth it in the end :D

Yep it's a Pajero Club badge and were designed to directly replace the tripe diamond emblem on the grill.
Apparently they made a batch of these about 15 years ago and they were all sold. They did a clean out of some club shop stuff and found 5 left so they were sold for $10 Ea, I was lucky enough to snaffle one, very rare.
