Carlton prefers to use small green nylon rope as a coil retainer, this way he can completely remove his shocks and get much better flex

Ahhh, nostalgia! She was a bumpy trip home that day....

I still haven't made up the little tabs for the bottom of the front coils, been talking about it for a fair while now! :D

Do you have the photo of my ropemanship handy??

surfection (jeremy) had a good little system in place that i saw on the surf, he welded tabs top and bottomto hold the coil in. i think the tabs were welded to the chassis and the diff and then bent over in a right angle over the top of the spring. should PM him and see if he could take a digi of it.

Just get some 25x25 angle iron and cut in a 20mm wide strip and weld it on hooked over the spring!

i welded extra bracing from the lower spring mount to the diff housing in the front and rear of the spring mount [ braces sit in the vertical plane ]
These braces have a nut welded behind them .
I then bent a bit of 25 x 3 flat into a "U" shape which sits upside down over the bottom coil run and bolt into the braces.
I then welded cones to the top spring mount to guide the spring back into place if it goes down to far. worked for 2 years so far.
shane :D
