200TDi Dash

Post by mike_beecham »

I have a stuffed dash - cracked etc - and have access to a TD5 Defender dash (not the instrument panel) can l fit it to my 200 TDi? Including the centre "pod" that the radio, elec weindow buttons etc, are mounted on???

I know the loeve system is different - is this changeable also (the TD5 system is better anyway).

Or is all going ot be a Rover nightmare to do and l shoudl just source a TDi dash?????

Anything can be made to fit, I have seen VN Commodore dashes in rangies. It just depends on how much stuffing around you are willing to do and if you can do it yourself.

Yeah - other reason being more switches. Currently they are placed in awkward locations. Did you just put the centre facisa in - or the whole dash door-to-door?

i put in the center and the new back/vent bit. Kept the top of dash and bottom of the old dash.
easy to do

So you can just fit the pod without replacing the entire dash. They want $500 for the complete dash! Pod is $150.

How much cutting is invloved!?

you have to cut the bottom part of the dash (where the clock and rear wash wipe sit.) Just have to take off the top of the raised bit in the middle. .
