Well we all know Pip and Tim aint scared. I'd go just to spectate those guys doin what they do. awsome buggy. The noise pedal certainly gets a workout. I reckon ABT is guna set the bar at this round.

Pete has alot of experience ova most teams, But a few of the newer teams are creepin up fast. Next year is guna be very competitive.

What are you talkin about... Pip & Tim set a bar back at Rnd 1... They drove to almost absolute perfection all weekend... & finished 1st...

Mechanical issues is the only reason they have been out of the top 3 in the last 2 rounds....

Don't forget that Rock Crawling has only started heavily in the past year or so & my buggy had its 1st test drive in November last year at the 2005 finals..... I would not say that we are that experienced.

Tuff Truck concept is nothing like Rock Crawling.. I can not even dream of driving the buggy anything like my yellow truck... They behave totally different to each other..

Also, remember that Tazz & I were yelling and screaming at each other at the finals last year, The difference now is that we communicate through Round Eyes Communication Systems.. ( worth every penny @ $750.00 a set & plenty in stock for any takers ). & we both now have more of an understanding of each persons required task...

I think that any vehicle that does not break anything at the finals will give them an instant top 5 placing........ Reliability is a major key to success... Also gives you more wheelin time instead of fixing it..

I truley hope that Firebug & GoNads get their buggies to the finals & anybody else that is so close to finishing...

As far as i know.. its pretty much simple as chasing up pics of buggies you like and measuring to scale and following that up. A number of us would have our own designs and most of us wouldnt like to share.. but more than happy to give ideas/suggestions on how to do particular things to assist.

i really enjoyed spectating at the last round at colo. might try and rock up to milbrodale to watch again. would love to build one and have a go. does anyone have plans or diagrams for frame design?

As far as i know.. its pretty much simple as chasing up pics of buggies you like and measuring to scale and following that up. A number of us would have our own designs and most of us wouldnt like to share.. but more than happy to give ideas/suggestions on how to do particular things to assist.

no that doesnt really help.!! my thoughts are that this is relatively new to us aussies. and if it is to become a BIG thing, which i think its growing already. people need to share at least some ideas. thats what AUSSIES do. OK the yanks might be mega secrative. but the sport is already well established there. down here in OZ its not. but im sure there are heaps of die hard 4by nuts like me that run challenge style rigs. that would be interested in building buggies, i know i am.but for someone like me (good mechanical apptitude but no real enginering qualifications) its hard to start from scratch. id like to think that the organisors of WErock want the sport to grow. and im sure it will. but it wont if everyone keeps tight lipped with an I want to win attitude. yeah we we all want to win. but lets not be like the yanks. why cant we be Aussie and share our ideas., who knows Aussie ingunuity might even beat the yanks at their own game. all im after is a basic plan for a tube frame. i can fine tune it myself, im not after secrets from the dead, i realise this is predominantly a yank sport, but hey we can australianise it as much as we like.

There is a heap of info on the net about building frames. Pirate would be your first port of call. Go thru as much as you can on there and you will have more than enough to get you started.

a lot, if not all of the buggies were built by getting pics of rigs say from the USA and measuring to scale then getting the base off that and refining it to your needs as Daisy said...like redzook suggested i dont believe there would be many people that actually have plans of the buggy they built...


best way to start is to get your driveline components first and build the buggy around it...as daisy said people will be more than happy to give advice on things such as suspension etc etc..

there was a thread on here where strangerover gave a detailed list of what would go into a buggy...i will try to find the link
