Upgrading the A/T's
Hey guys im getting rid of my current tires and going for full mudders i would like to know the biggest tyre i can go on a standard 92 feroza with the swaybar removed and any recommendations on what sort of tyre i should get gonna spend about $1200 want the best ones i can get for that,

Do you still want to be able to drive them on road a bit? Becuase the best mudders won't really like this.
I wouldn't go much more than a 30x9.5x15 tyre, with regards to guard clearance and gearing.
I would opt for an MTR if you will use it on the street...
If pure offroad, you can't really get Boggers to fit under, though Swampers come in 29" and 31" sizes. Even MT Claws are a favourite... In a Bias ply of course
For 1200, you could get some 30" MTRs with new, wider offset rims.. would look good

i will be using them mostly onnroad but would still like decent mudders i know they will wear out quicker but it's a price i'm willing to pay to throw that awesome roost

You want mud tyres, that will be ok on road, but not great, just get any MT, they are essentially very similar, only wear rates differ. Best to just look at the patterns and pick the most aggressive one. Although if i was going a full mud tyre i'd go Simex centipede's, or Monoform Mongrels, as good as boggers/swampers are, they aint road legal
My mate currently has Sumitomo Sarenghetti's (SP ? ) on his rocky and, well, they rock Look almost as aggressive as pedes, got em in a 30" IIRC for $150ea

i have a 2inch lifted 92 feroza widetrac and standard rims with Goodyear MTR'S 30 X 9.5 AND I AM MORE THAN IMPRESSED. the grip in the mud is well past what the at's could do.

I got Wrangler MTR on my roza, sizes are 30x 9.5 on stock rims. R15, has them on the car for everyday driving and out of the blue wheeling moments.. costed me 1050ish 2 years ago for set of 5. a tyre itself would be at 260ish but got discount for buying 5 tyres.
Got them when the car has 121,000 now still going at 158,000 i'd say they have lifespan for my driving habits of about 40,000km. If ur a smoother driver, u'd get more out of it.
I am pleased with them, great in mud, great on the dry road but not so good in the rain, they tend to lock and skid even if u didn't brake hard.

MTR's are great on the road. Having owned MTR's, bfg, khumo's as well as tsl/sx swampers, MTR's win road section hands down. In the mud swampers obviously win hands down, but then the bfg muds, then the mtr's. Khumo's were average, but there were worn so hard to judge. On the rocks the swampers again, then the mtr's. Then bfg Muds. The mtr's are probably a better bet if your not doing heaps of mud and want to use them on the road all the time. They wear well and are good to drive on, balancing up okay. My brother runs MTR's on his roza ( 29 inch , or whatever that equates to in metric) and they go excellent, fit on standard rim and without major suspension work. Oh and shop round more if your getting quoted those prices, you can buy 33 MTR's for that.

I'f your really impatient and want mudders now, then lift, then bigger mudders, i can reccomend Monoform Ground Hogs. ~$100ea, really agressive but they are remoulds, only lasted me a year before they where nearly slicks. That was with alot of raod kays.

The reason I went for MTR was allround performance... and I didn't go a dedicated offroad tyre due to:
-I couldn't be stuffed changing tyres each time i go 4x4ing
-I don't have enough space in my place for 4/5 tyres and rims
-Some places to go 4x4ing are heaps far away, and driving on dedicated offroad tyres isn't always the best... like Bias tyres, Boggers or Swampers
-I love the sexy look of MTRs on my beast all the time

I paid $225 each for 4 x MTR's 30 x 9.5 x r15 standard fez rims
love them and won't be trying anything else until they are bald

I have a set of Pro comp X terrains (see signature for specs)
They were on there when I purchased the car. Thus far have really done sweet F A off roading in the whole scheme of things however have been most impressed with the wearing of them given the huge amount of bitumen work they've been getting
They go hard off road...when it counts
