Mines done 498,000, when I asked a well known brand about turboing it they said you would want to at least do a set of rings first, don't know if thats sensible or not? Or why bother just drop a V8 in? Don't know what to do myself.
I have heard of engines with 400,000kms on the odometre being turbo'd. It all comes down to how the engine has been serviced throughout its life I beleive. Personally I would have a good diesel mechanic do the obvious checks like compression and so forth and if they give the go ahead then I see no reason not to fit a turbo.
