HELP - Wide Track kit on a Hilux

Hi Guys,

Putting my IFS rear housing on this weekend and just wondering should i replace the O-ring seal aroung where each axle bolts up to the housing

There also looks like there was either silcone or a seal aroung where the diff bolts on

Anyone know

If so i will need to get these before the weekend

Anything else i need to know

Yes i got the handbrake cable with the new housing

No i would'nt replace o-ring.
Clean off crap from around diff housing using a solvent cleaner, use blue gasket glue when you put the diff centre back in, thats all i use now.

Thanks mate. Is there a brand name for that blue gasket glue or will any do

Yes i got the handbrake cable with the new housing

1. If it has any sign of damage, splits, flat sections etc, but these rarely ever break.

2. Use the correct gasket and some RTV sealant for this flange, not silicone.

3. You will need the later model drums, you cant use your old narrow-track ones.

Toyota reccomend just a liquid gasket seal for the front diff.

Just ask for it at Rip Every Poor C--t Off or Bursons.

"Ultra blue" is what you want.
Brand name sold by Loctite is "Blue Max silicone" but everyone should know what your on about if you ask for ultra blue.
Works great for almost any gasket.

Thanks guys

I got the whole thing drum to drum and handbrake cable just no centre as mine will be used.
I will have to get some of the Ultra Blue tomorrow

on this tpoic. who makes the spacers for fitting the ifs hubs on the front now that ORI is capput

ORI is back under new managment.
ABT also sells them.

If anyone is interested i have pulled my wide track diffs out, i have the whole lot available with the spaces already on the front and ifs hubs installed plus the ifs rear diff. Centres a re 4:1:1.

It makes the front diff the same width as the IFS rear housing.
3 inches wider overall than a standard SA lux.
