Hi guys

While i was on the beach both my back shocks (Stock) started leaking oil so it's time to buy some new ones not bad for 18 years

I have a question this car does 99% of the time on the road so road use would be a must. I tow a boat a pretty often so i was think along the lines of Air Shocks so i can pump them up kinda hard to make the car corner better and feel more stable not as swaying.
Could someone maybe suggest a shock for my needs as i tow a boat but not all the time. so mainly what i need is a good stable shock that will corner nicely but won't cost a arm and a leg.

I have priced a few shocks just not sure which ones to go with.
Monroe Gas Magnum TDT (2 Shocks for $254)
Gabriel "Ultra Shock ($90 ea)
Gabriel Blue Ryder ($99.50 ea)

Should i replace all 4 at the same time or just the back 2 as there the worst out of them all.

Bilstein only way to go, velocity controlled valving, great control, consistant loaded, unloaded, fast, or slow.

Replace all 4, or the well controlled end will transfer making the other end feel worse.

Both great shocks ... the price of the Bilsteins may frighten you though :)

Tiny roughly how much are they ea i'm not looking to spend a fourtune :lol:

One other thing i was speaking to some guy at work and he said that he would put EFS in his 4wd are these any good and he said he paid $90ea :cool:

EFS are another KOFAP shock, which arent really worth the low price.

Bilsteins, with the good buhes, and the correct valving [dont use Bilstein part no] should only cost you around $649 for 4 to suit, with stone shields for the rear included, and freight to the door TNT is under $25.

If your looking for budget, Ridepro do some great valving, and are under $500 a set.

Would you recommend these over Koni Raids on a heavy Tourer with a three inch lift ie. - 05 GU 4.2 3.0 tonnes with all the junk ?

Dobinsons shocks are valved a bit firmer than your EFS/TJM, Procomp shocks and they will put up with the punishment as good as Bilstein or Koni IMHO. I can sell them to you for $95 each. $10 for freight whether for 1 shock or 4.

Entry level Tough Dog Foam Cell Shocks, good valve rates, compression and rebound, stone guard. Good product for the price.

$160-00 each 2yr/40000km warranty.
