How strong do you need it to be? I don't think the 720 would be particularly rugged considering they are a fairly light vehicle. Lada Niva is divorced I think, not that common but cheap enough. Aren't some of the F-truck/Broncos divorced transfers? They'd have to be strong.
I had a diesel 720 for ages. I broke a lot of stuff on that truck, engine gearbox, diffs, suspension all through hard use and abuse. but i never broke the tcase
i run a 720 in my mud racer behind a worked 350 chev and it takes a punishment and hasnt broke a lot of guys run them and they seem to be the choice they are strong and cheap

I had a 351 clevo in front of a divorsed transfer of an MQ no problems. On another note the innards out of a 720 transfer are compatable with the innards of an mq transfer (divorsed that is)
