A uni joint, a double cardan joint and a birfield joint are ALL types of CV (constant velocity) joints.

so yeah, just a FYI!
hands and mums dont count!!!

I wouldn't think a uni isn't really a constant velocity joint as it doesn't have constant output. ie: constant velocity in/sine wave velocity out....

In aus we use the terms CV - the axle joint found in the steering knuckle of front diffs, the joint type is called a Birfield

A double cardan is the joint on your Hilux front driveshaft - the two unis close together

universal joints are not a constant velocity joint. They have velocity fluctuations which is why they are phased. The fluctuations are cancelled out when they are phased.
