Has anyone rebuilt a steering box
Just finished my first.
Out of the three boxes I had ,I managed to get
1 good case
1 good sector shaft
1 good worm
Put it all together with a new seal kit.
The sector shaft output seal is so tight I am unsure of the settings but the preload on the worm is set corectly so it should come good.
The torque setting tool was a pita to try and replicate and I dont know why
torque figures werent set directly off the input shaft.
Will fit it up this week and see how it goes.

3 bolt power steering rebuild
Fitted the box up tonight,
I cannot get any backlash on the box because the seals are still too tight
What I first thought was backlash was the initial force needed to overcome the seals,
I hope this theory is correct.
On the good side the thing does not leak.
Another box to rat for parts on the bench.
