Have heard a rumor that it is off for now as there is no one willing to step upto the plate and organise and run this great event....
to jamie smith for dedicating his time to getting this going but from what i have heard he is wanting to step aside and have a well deserved break....

The rumour is untrue, Woodpecker WILL be running this year, we have just tonight received confirmation that the property is available.
It is to be held on the 26th November at Dargle Ski Park, and the paperwork will be available to the invited clubs in the next 2 weeks.

I am the Co-ordinator this year, and the paperwork will be sent out to the relevant clubs in about a weeks time. I think we have nearly sorted out our website/domain name problem and will have more info, including last years results up there sooooon
WOODPECKER
After our meeting today I have been asked to pose a question to Woodpecker competitors (not spectators -they'll always opt for the most carnage option!)
-Are you happy to run with the old track with a few mods? -we had planned a total revamp, but the Jamboree is going to suck resources and manpower.
-What changes would you like to see?
-What do you like/dislike about the current track?
Feedback would be appreciated, either here or email me please

id be happy if they keep at least 1 part with water in it,that way pecker has it all water, mud, holes, climbs, downhills.best of everything.
if anything the downhill bit on stage 2 seems a bit dangerous.maybe some more timber there to stop a 4x4 from rolling into the crowd.there have been a few rollovers there that didnt go past the wire but that doesnt mean it can not happen.
Likes= The climbs are excellent,
dislikes=the last wombat hole got chewed up a lot .disadvantged some teams.

Can't do much with wombat holes due to soft ground. But thats the nature of the sport the track constantly changes, somtimes it's an advantage sometimes a dis-advantage.

Agree with what 'Thunder' said, the wombat holes stuffed one of our pair, but I think that was more to do with the amount of water there (and he slipped off the line I wanted him on ).Coighty wrote:Can't do much with wombat holes due to soft ground. Overall I don't think you want to change it too much.
Cheers, Tony

I understand it takes a lot of hard work to put a comp on, thanks to Chrissy and On All 4's for their work. If you dont have time to change the track dont. It was hard last year mostly due to the amount of rain. I spent all day under an umbrella. This year i will drive it with the team. Am looking forward to it.
I ought to report you to the f#cking RSPCA neville.

Funny you should say that, sort of along the lines of small changes we are making to the track currently. Where one car has to go one way and the other another. One of these will give bonus points if driven unaided.troy gill wrote:how about a bonus line to get teams thinking
We couldn't just leave it entirely the same
