I was particularly pissed off with the tools that decided to drag a bloody great log around the camping area at a speed that would be dangerous WITHOUT the log flying around behind it....... i think it was the guys who spent the entire weekend drunk on the ride-on mower. Other than that, i'll be going to the next one  good job fellas
 I know that it is probably dangerous, but Bogans doing bogan stuff is one of the highlights of these things for me. we had a pommy mate with us who was blown away by the action on the track, but absolutely couldnt get over the fact he was observing genuine bogan activity first hand - he could not stop laughing. Funniest thing Ive seen for a while. the next morning, seeing how close the drag marks on the ground were to campers tents and vehicles was a bit scary though....

I remember the early tuff trucks when spectators were doing tractor pulls right in the middle of the camping area with a drag chain. Not to mention the free for all mud pit (and the young mud wrestling lasses)

Let’s see here.

Pip and Tim couldn't make it but up until that comp have been in the top 3 and put in a damn fine effort and drive the crap out of their buggy.

Not sure if you are referring to Guts (NSW) and the Rodent (VIC) but he was driving a buggy for the first time and in his first comp.
Not that it matters because he is from NSW and not Victoria anyways

Rob and Moose have competed in a few comps and I have never heard them talking themselves up.
They are in it for the fun more than anything and are always having an absolute ball no matter what is happening.

So I can only assume you are talking about us?
Can't really remember talking up how good we are but if that’s what you think so be it...

Shane was driving a buggy that had just been finished and driven onto the trailer.
He had never driven a buggy before and it broke a control arm mount on the first stage on Saturday so we DNF the rest of the day
We also had to use some old skanky 38.5" TSL's instead of our new 40" maxxis stickies.
The last time we competed was December last year so we were a bit rusty to say the least.
We did what we could on Sunday and had a pretty good day.
Sorry to disappoint in not making it to the shootout...

I guess we will see you at next years comps and see how we go :)

P.S - I could be mistaken but weren't you the guys that drove straight out of the shootout course on the dirt without trying any bonus's at all?
As someone from the crowd yelled out "More like off rock racing"

hehe

nothing like a bit of smack talk to boost that already overflowingly strong interstate rivalry... but the best part of it is that even though the rivalry is as strong as ever, everyone pitches in and helps out whomever is in need.

I was born and raised in Qld, and have now lived more than 10yrs in VIC... its those damn cockroaches I can't stand... hehe.

For me it was awesome to see so many VIC competitors make the journey - there was good represnetation from Qld, NSW, and VIC this time around.

Usual deal, anyone wanting photos from WE Rock Finals can send a disc to me or come over with a 6 pack of Stirlings (yeah…pretty gay…but lite beer keeps me upright longer)

Big thanks to Tony from Haultech to letting us on, I am sending a disc to Tom and a copy for you included.

Cheers

i have edited the video i took of the weekend..... about an hour once i chopped the crap out of it..... it's all to music, heavy rock/metal..... i subtitled all the tracks. Better than just watching the dvd without anything but the crowd. Anyway, if you want a copy, PM me your address and i'll send it to you. Don't know how many i can send out, but i'll send to the guys that drove first, anybody else later... see when i run out of blank DVDs hehe My video editing skills leave lots to be desired, but it should be watchable.

OK its a bit late but as usual i always like to have my say, you know been the Rock God and all. :finger:

Huge weekend and a huge congrats to Tony Robinson and Sam Overton for putting on a great event. Right from word go i could see that the areas had been set up well and the courses were going to be very challenging. The courses had everything from big drop off to nice off cambers (not enough throttle assult climbs though :)). It is also great to see that courses could be driven by Pro-mod rigs on 37" tyres and by just changing a few bonus lines made it that much harder for the Unlimiteds. One thing i hate is seeing rigs getting diffed out due to small tyres and not been able to complete the courses, but due to the terrain and the course design this never happened which then allowed people to drive much harder lines and really put it on for the crowds.

Big thank you must go to all the Volunteers, marshall's and Judges as with out you all these events would never happen. Bec and Kate were as always very professional and worked their butts off and have so for two years, it would be great to see them rewarded with a trip to the USA, if anyone deserves to go it is those two.

Big thanks to the spectators and especially all the young boys and girls that showed so much interest and pestered me for stickers and autographs, it was a real buzz.

Thanks always to the competitors, the competion was great and the new teams and buggys are really well set-up.

Huge congrats to Jamie Way and James Kennedy from Team 4x4 specialist for there consistant performance over the weekend.

Congrats to Dave Camp and Chris Bolli for taking out the Pro-Mods class, i can see that you guys will be a dominant force in that class for years to come.

Congrats to Pete Antunac, Tazz Baguley, Dave Camp, Chris Bolli, Sean Langley and Tim Scutt for making the cut to represent your country in what will be one of the biggest highlights of the rockcrawling calender.

A really huge thanks must go to Wes Clifford who worked his butt off to get me threw the stages (especially on saturday when we had no steering). It is an honour to work with such a cool and calm (and polite :) ) spotter.

A very huge thanks must go to Sean Lee from ABT 4x4 who out of no other reason other than been a good sport and great guy sourced a power steering pump and organised everything to make it easy for us to get it. It is this type of support and attitude that makes Rockcrawling what it is.

Also a huge thanks must go to all the media that come out and supported our sport, Offroadimages, DirtComp, 4x4 australia, 4wdmonthly, Channel 9, NewFM, Singelton Times, Outerlimits, Pirate4x4 and all other related Media Personal there.

Finally i must thank Mickey Thompson and TJM.

The new tyres from Mickey Thompson are really starting to come into their own. The compound and construction is by far the best i have seen and i now feel totally confident that these are by far the most advanced rockcrawling tyre available.

It was also great to have the SUPPORT from my sponsors, especially Rob Keiler, Rob Van Driel, Mark Pullen, Brett Quadling and Luke Dillon. These guys came along to the event to support Rockcrawling as a whole and this is what our sport needs.

Overall the finals along with the world finals is a huge steping stone for all involved in Rockcrawling here in threw out the world.

Cheers Adrian.

Whoa!

Settle down there, Champ. No need to get your knickers all in a twist.

Might need to practice a little of what you are preaching?

And this round had everything to do with the series. Considering that it was the Final round of the WE Rock Series, and all

Yes that is correct. However as i have already said, i was thanking the people involved in this ROUND not the series. If i was thanking everyone involved in the series then i would have a list a mile long and included people like hans and hiedi from Rover Park etc etc.

Hey dude, its your speech ;)

I just happened to notice everyone from the Queen to Ita Buttrose being thanked...except for your old mate Roger.

Felt it would be remiss not to point it out.

My apologies...please continue

I wonder how well sum of these people would go without there spotters in comp conditions, from what i can see the navi is a very critical componant in EVERY round for a team. When you make the world finals, You thank EVERYONE who got you there. Simple.............(or do well in Aus finals)

Great w/end. Had a ball judging A1/B1.Our course was more technical
without the big dropoffs.

What it did highlight was how important the spotter is. One of the
advantages of judging is you get to see close up exactly what's going on.
The really good spotters work out any clearance probs for the diff and chassis and pack rocks and instruct the driver accordingly. They don't say
"reverse back, now punch it" every time they get stuck.

Saw a number of great drives....like Not Not on the Pro mod bonus,
excellent wheel placement and throttle control to crawl it. Sam Keck's
spectacular effort driving thru the crack...really tested the wheel travel for Pete. Adrians' drive of the unlimited bonus line on Sunday was a mixture of guts and skill...... the only one to drive the unlimited bonus all w/e. There were more but I can't remember them all.

Congrats to the winners, and to all the drivers... didn't have an argument
all w/e.

Tony / Dave please put a fence around the judges cup buggy....it's a bit
rough we miss out on the thing we look forward to all w/e , and even worse to have to listen to blondie boast that he's the season winner ...
what because he won one round....and even that he was really only
sitting behind the steering wheel while Dave guided it around on
remote control. :finger:

Shaun.
