Particles in Shell helix Diesel Oil?
Did an oil change on my ute this morning. After emptying all the new oil from the container into the engine I looked into the oil drum.I could see black particles in there at the bottom.
Do you reckon I should call them and complain? Is this normal?.Never seen shit like this in oil before.Probably cause the oil I usually buy is in a black container.
Should I dump this oil or do you reckon the filters will clean out the crap?

Is this ash - a fine carbon residue that is naturally present in partially refined oil and which settles out over time in the container?.
Apparantly, the same thing happens with milk.
Said to be harmless.....
PS There must be something about this on the web....
