Turbo installation questions

Post by BOB_1 »

I have just "aquired" a Garrett GT25 and custom manifold for my TD42. It is a standard NA 4.2 in a 99 GU wagon. The question I have is where are the best spots to pick up and return oil. I know a few people return it into the sump but surely for a motor with a turbo variant, it would have somewhere to run it back into and pickup designed for a turbo.

Pics or a good description would be great.

Im going with the turbo, matched length manifold, dump pipe and 3 inch exhaust, most likely with a intercooler a bit later on when funds allow. Any other hints for these mods would be great, The fuel pump will get some work also at some stage and I hope to fit oil pressure, boost and EGT also.

I have the same engine as you in a GQ NA with the same alternator as well, on the LHS of the block forward of the engine mount there are 2 plugs, the large one is the low pressure oil return to sump and the small one taps into an oil gallery and is high pressure.
