Duramax 6.6LTR diesel V8 (320hp & 520 lb ft)

Post by LOCKER »

Duramax 6.6LTR diesel V8 (320hp & 520 lb ft) with economy of 20+ mpg Pulling around a full size Suburban. Has anybody looked into installing one of these in a GQ. I am after overall length, height etc of theses engines & also the allison gearbox, so I can start designing the relevant modifications. I realise they are big BUT I was planning on modifing the firewall back & making the transmission tunnel wider and higher to accomodate everything .

Thanks

I ran into a bloke at Philip Island who had 1 in a GQ, It was fitted in Perth.

He gave me the card as I had an 80 series 4ltr at the time and was looking to do the same sort of thing but I was thinking 7.5ltr power stroke ford, but I hear the Duramax is a better engine for moding.
