GQ rear shocks

Post by 6.5 rangie »

Have done a search and found very little, but am wondering what people have done about the lower eye in regaurds to putting a sleeve in or something to match up to the bolt on the adapter or do you just let it slop about?
Also does the upper mount need raising?

I can send you pics in the next few days. send me your email...

You need some custom made FUBAR extended top mounts (suits 50mm body lift) and a pin setup welded onto the diff.

And dont listen to the LRA publicity about the conversion not being worthwhile, I have Koni GQs in mine and they have the same travel as the custom bilsteins even when they are fitted with a 20mm internal bump stop!

:)

I've used 16mm bar drilled 12mm and pressed it into the bush. Works well. Chamfer the outside corners also.

Just found an old bottle jack handle in the shed, cut it down and fits sweet.

Now just need to measure up the shock and see if i need to raise the top mount.

i just bought pin to eye adaptors and the GQ bottom mount fits perfectly.

is this what you are talking about? converting the pin (L/R) to the eye mount of the GQ shocks?

Yeah thats it, but the converters must have about a 16mm bolt to fit the eye on the GQ shock.
I made my converters the same as HSV Rangies (cost about $12) and use a half inch bolt for the eye and have just sleeved it to suit.
