4wd Dyno's in Melbourne - recommendations?
Hi All,
Just wonding about somewhere to get my car Dyno'd in Melbourne.
Now that we've completed most of the engine swap for the car, I'd kinda like to get it checked to see that it's running okay (air/fuel ratios etc).
Can anyone recommend somewhere that can cope with a "larger" car? (i.e is my tyre size going to make the car harder to get dyno'd?) Or are all Dyno places the same?
Any good / bad experiences to share would be great too.
Thanks,
Greg

My thoughts exactly Moose, no way would I be dynoing it witout the 35's on there, just making sure that these guys can handle the tyre size, but I'm sure they can. Might have to make a few phone calls tomorrow.

Thanks all, looks like some pretty solid feedback... Once i get my car on the road again i guess i'll book myself in to one of these places and find out how it's all going...
Any ideas about what it costs / how long it takes to do this process? 10mintues? 6 hours? Obviously i don't have any idea about what's involved.
Cheers,
Greg

I struggle to see what diff it could possibly make - unless the ram head restricts air flow... remember that we are talking on a dyno - so unless they are using a fan to blow air at the car (i.e. there is no wind so air isn't being forced into the system with the ram head) - i don't think the ram head could make any difference?

brilliant with LPG

That would be the one... He has a nice F100, old 60s model with a very large donk, very nice...
Re: chassis dyno's
Does running on a Dyno root your tires?
i think it also depends on what puter you are running.
ie if you are using a Mo-Tech talk to simon at nispro ( imo Mo-Tech are over rated ) etc
most guys can get more out the system they are used to playing with
Errol "efi dynamics in Lilydale - 9735 4513"
" AKA the wizard" is in to big HP
he sets up a lot of the cars for Summer Nats and rice burners and that sort of thing. he also does complete turbos setups, norm asp and super charged setups.
he tuned my turbo IC 4.2 diesel patrol with 35's on it with out a problem, apart from getting to the fuel pump (to high) and he's 6'2"
there are a lot of good people out there its just a matter of calling around and asking, what type of motor they work on most and/or if they can recommend someone who has experience with your motor
