CV's H/D and where to buy ?

Just wondering if they make a H/D CV for the WT Sierra other than CRMO ?

Where can I get some ? Where can I get some standard ones from ?

Standard oned , try a wreckers. But really, if your busting them over and over again, consider a axle swap or change of driving habits. IMHO its not really worth the $$ to get Heat treated etc CV's for zook axles.

What driving habits i was only turning around slowwly with no throtle !!!

nah new car and id say it must have been on its way out because i didn't do anything that a Musso couldn't do.

Think i just worked out why. The f%$&ing front diff is welded.

Oh well time to but in half dozen lots.

CWBYUP what size tyres are you running?

I've got front and rear lockrights and 39" muddies and havent had a problem touch wood!

But if your running bigger that might be the thing!
Built swb sierra, building a lwb sierra ute and have a dmax for family camping

SPOA and 31" claws, i reakon it must have been on its way out as i didn't do stuff all in it.


The Lockrights let go when turning though dont they ?
I think i might just put the locker in the rear and a lock right in the front.

i dont think 39s come in muddies and i highly doubt u would be runin zook diffs, but my guess is a typo.

Sorry the number 9 is next to the number 0! ooops!

CWBYUP go fro the lock right in the back and the air locker in the front! Unless you got power steering! It's very hard to turn if it ever go's i'll go an air locker probably!

The thing with an air locker is that it wont be instantly off when you flip the switch. It will take maybe a couple of meters before it's actually disengaged, and sometimes you just dont have the room, or you leave it too late to flip the switch. These are times when it's nice to have the air locker AND power steering.

Power steering would be awsome in not to disstant future!

The only draw back with the air locker is that the air hoses break and get cought on stuff witch means you lockless for the rest of the day!

I carry spare CV's when i go for a decent trip, why are you winking at that Damo :finger:

If you martak (sp?) your axles, you dont need to run the circlip on the end of the axle that holds it to the CV, amking just swapping a CV onto the existing axle (provided the CV doesnt take the spling with it when it does its grenade impersonation) easy ass.

Being around air-locked rigs regualy, i tend to agree with Bazooked here.
The chance of damage is much outweighted by the advantage of a fully selectable locker. As long as your air hoses are properly routed and set-up, this should be a real non-issue to consider.

I've only seen it once but have heard of it a couple of times!

I mainly get out with jeeps don't know if thats what it is but i've read some threads on here as well!

Airlocker lines set up properly should never have a problem
you could allways go for the air line upgrade that arb offer on the late model lockers
suzis rock and f#@k the rest
