IMHO mud, deep water, is all part of four wheel driving so if you enter in a FOUR WHEEL DRIVING COMP thats what you get maybe comps should have both mud and deep water crossing's BRING IT ON

just my 2 bob worth (i drove to both comps competed in everything then drove home) but like I said everyone to there own

i agree to a point, the willowglen mud isnt as un friendly as that at the trials, it seems more watery and doesnt clog radiators as bad, id like to see the mud scrapped, but it probobally wont happen, so i guess ill just have to allow more cash for repairs.

sunday arvo at my place about 2pm, and spectator seats will cost 2 cartons its thirsty work choppin other peoples cars to bits

yea i wouldnt really call that water at the trials.....i agree tho WATER crossings and mud but not shitty deep liquid mud stuff....

Not sure how, but I think the mud run should be replaced with a mud run. Not a silty water hole run. Some nice slippery rutted track covered in slop Who know's how to build it though....

We did just that a few years back. It was called the Nissan slip-slide or something. You can still see the remains down the back of the Oval Track, that back section abit before you turn down to Ducky's. Was just a slippery stretch with a couple of big bumps and a golf ball end. Was a bit non-spectacular and easy. And they still got mud everywhere. But....comments noted.

cheers to mark for his drive on the w-end.Our club is competin for the thrill of bein involved in the comp and to enjoy our w-end.Our daily drivers have to do 100k's on the freeway on monday mornin let alone towin the camper home with the kids and my girl in.So yeah we hav to take things into account like is the xtra 5-15pts worth it to flog it thru the course.Any joe can plant the boot and aim for the finish line but a skilled drive where consideration is givin to the life of the vehicle and bein able to make the next track/drive home/comp etc has to be appreciated.I drove further then some that hammered theirs on some tracks and without any repairs for the w-end.I dont no any blokes in our club with limitless cash to throw at his truck so dont bag these drives.Although each to his own.Not a soft-c**k just to broke to hav to buy spares every comp.

I was one of the nurses that assisted with the tree incident on Saturday. My question is did someone look after the driver and navigator that hit the tree. I am sure that they would have been in shock themselves. As I was busy with the patient, I unfortunately didn't see what happened to the others. They needed TLC also. I hope they are alright.

My 1st event was event 4
Event 4.compressor failure 5 points
event 1 .drove hard to 85 points
event 3 . last car on course with the one before me rolled so i was
easy on the gas and got 65 points
DAy 2
event 8.the mud. went left from the start around the peg and from there the gas was pushed to the floor in 2nd.did not lift it till we got to 100 points.we were very happy
event 5 stairs.tried the softly softly approach and got to 50 points
event 6.trees revenge.in the 4 year previous the best i have got is 30
we got most the way around and did our 15 point turn and then LAUNCHED HELL at the last few logs and got to 90 points with the car facing the tree..excelent for us
event7 .wombats. love the long wheel base cause it never felt like it was going over and got to 100 points.

i started on event 2 and got to 75 points, then moved to event 3, punched a tyre of the bead at 30 points , event 4 i made it up the hill but didnt make the turn into the lower half of the track, 10 points.
event 1 i went hard and managed 85 points.
on sunday i started on the trees revenge and managed 90 points, i then went to the wombat holes, all was going well until the UHF areial went under the bunting when we nose dived, when it came out of the hole it broke the bunting at 50 points, must remember to take it off next year
in the mud i got to 70 points and found a deep hole
the staircase i only got to 50 points

Next was event 3, got 100 points
Next event 4, got 100 points
Next event 1, got 100 points

Sunday first event 6, trees revenge, got 100 points, snapped a trailing arm but still finished.
Next event 7, wombat holes, got 100 points.
Next event 8, mud, got 99 points, got front wheels out but not rear.
Last event 5, my most nervous event as ive never done the trials before and had no idea how to attack a series of vertical retaining walls, got 50 points.

You can compete in a car and drive it home if you prepare it well. My wagon does 500 klm each week to take me to work and back, then backs up for club runs too. I towed a trailes with my pedes in it to the trials and then towed it home. Cant beat the Maverick.

Second in Modified and second overall. Got beat on the last event. Was leading up to there, he got points back on that event and got me by 6 points for the win. Congrats.

Well done to everyone there, it was a great weekend. Thanks to the Nissan Patrol Club for running a great event i was happy to be part of. Thanks to all the track marshalls, officials, Toyota Landcruiser recovery team and Nissan Patrol recovery team.

Next event 7, wombat holes, got 100 points.

Spot on thoughts about the guys in the car. I spoke to their team mates that evening and asked after them, news was they were a bit shaken but generally okay; they'd busted their transfer case and were working on the car until 1am, so I guess that took their minds off it a bit

My last word on this is a HUGE well done to all those who assisted at the scene, it's reassuring to know we have people like you in our 4WD fraternity.

Good stuff, you had a great run, they were the kind of scores i was hoping to achieve, i had bad luck on 1 or 2 stages but i f#cked up on a couple too,had a couple of good runs though. oh well its all experience i guess. Well done anyway Henry. are you having a crack at woodpecker too?

charles in the blue/orange hilux had a bad one.
no rear locker all weekend.then on day two broke an axle and cv in the mud and then next event (stairs)broke the same side again plus laid it over in the holes.he had a good time doing it though.
Charles is only 21 and he has learnt heaps.he has got axles and cvs this week and is pulling the rear diff apart tomorrow so he will be at woodpecker.

Thanks Cruiser, i gotta say thanks to my navi, Daz, (china on the board) without us working together as a team so well we would not have got such a good result. People say the navi in the trials is nothing but a seat warmer, well you better get yourself another navi. Cause you gotta work as a team.

For those wondering, the buckets that were taken around the Sunday Events and at the exit gate raised a total of $1,515.40 for CareFlight.

Thanks to everyone that contributed!

The Nissan Club has raised a bit more at its last General Meeting and will be passing all of that money to Careflight very soon.

If there are any other Club's out there that have have raised some money for Careflight, contact me (or Miss Wendy) and we can combine the totals - let's get some good PR for 4WDs for a change!!

Yeh i checked out the results this sarvo been hanging to see how i went 34th overall im heaps stoked with that for my first trials, definately cant wait to come back next year see if i can improve upon that
