If your hook or shackle are mounted properly to secure things, you will break your strap first. Which is the way it's intended. (mind you I've also seen a strap go through a rear window and knock the driver out.... WHILE HE WAS WEARING A HELMET!

yeh true cheers for the replies. i thought about jsut using the existing tongue, take the ball off and use a shackle. it was moreso for future use, eg. towing trailer. and have the option for recovery point.
i have found a few links for bolt on kits to change over from the standard setup for around 60 bucks.. i may do that..
and i agree i dont cheap out on safety just couldnt find a good place in Perth that could sort it out..
