Who can make a tow hitch receiver?

I am wanting the hayman reece type hitch receiver that i can bolt onto my towbar in place of the tongue and ball setup
eg. to use one of these

Any local metal fab shop should be able to handle this.

I would insist on at least 20 mm thick steel to bolt to your existing hitch and at least 5mm thick RHS welded fully to that as the hitch receiver.

Then ensure that grade 8.8 bolts are used to bolt it to your current tow bar.

Also buy a proper locating pin, or again use at least a grade 8.8 bolt to hold the recovery insert into the RHS.

I have complete towbars at work that you could cut the section you need off.
Then just get someone to weld it to the plate you need.

Yeah thats spot on If you get someone to make it for you make sure they know what there doing it anit funny when a bumper leaves a car.

Why not just take the ball off the tongue you have an put a large shackle on it?

thought about using the hook ones? that way u dont have a shackel flying around if it breaks tho i spose the hook could snap to

If your hook or shackle are mounted properly to secure things, you will break your strap first. Which is the way it's intended. (mind you I've also seen a strap go through a rear window and knock the driver out.... WHILE HE WAS WEARING A HELMET!

yeh true cheers for the replies. i thought about jsut using the existing tongue, take the ball off and use a shackle. it was moreso for future use, eg. towing trailer. and have the option for recovery point.
i have found a few links for bolt on kits to change over from the standard setup for around 60 bucks.. i may do that..

and i agree i dont cheap out on safety just couldnt find a good place in Perth that could sort it out..
