fitting 60 disks to hilux front?????
Was thinking of putting 60ser front disks onto my 84/85 dual cab hilux to help stop it as it has a inj 5ltr and t700 with 35 soon to be 37.Have been told these fit straight on as a full ass ie disk caliper steering arm..
It looks like you need cross over steering straight up other then that they are meant to be the same fitment just with bigger disks and 4 spot calipers, can any one tell me if this is correct info and if it makes much diff and if anything else involved such as brake boosters???ect

IFS 4runners,3rd gen lux will work with stock master cylinder,V6 4runner and 80s would be better of with a 80s master and slight mods to the caliper for lux offset
also get slotted rotors, work heaps better

whats the go with fitting the IFS rears are the straight bolt in or more involved?whiteknight wrote:I put an 80 Series booster and Master Cylinder in my hilux and it made a big difference..
Kept the standard 4 spot front calipers and upgraded to the IFS rear drums as they are bigger than the solid axle rears..
Just do as ya bloody told jason and stop askin to many Qs ya fukn confusin yaself
Use the 80 series master cyl the 1 without abs and thats all ya need for the front if it got the 4 spot tho the V6 4 spot are biger pistons
The rear just buy the whole ifs rear diff with drums its all bolt on.
And them 35s are nowhere as big as 37s lol.
And bloody get xover steer them 37s will kill the push pull and the box goes on the outside of the chassi not inside lol.

Cobber...the 1990 or better hilux has 60 discs std...and the v6 4 runner calliper has 80 series pistons with hilux mounting...so u put the v6 runner callipers on a vented lux front diff....or put 60 series swivels and discs on your diff, then the v6 callipers. whichever way you want to go....just so we can compare, your 4 spot callipers now have 2 x 22mm pistons and 2 x 35. so does the 60 series. The later lux has 4 x 35mm pistons, and the v6 runner has 4 x 45mm pistons...so either of thwese callipers are a big improvement. The later lux calls can be used with std booster/master, but the v6 calls need early 80 series non ABS master, early 80 had drums down the back aswell....any 80 master and booster will be ok. The other toyota to have this setup is a 1988-1993 cressida....not the grande that has ANS but the glx.
