Warn high mount missing hand control, 3 or 5 prong?

Post by ausyota »

I have just bought a secondhand Warn 8274 high mount winch with no hand control.
I will be fitting in cab controls but was thinking the remote could come in handy for spooling in the last bit of cable.

So the socket on the front of the solinoid pack has 6 holes in it.
There are only 3 wires conected to the back of it though.
Does this mean I need the 3 pin plug or 5 pin?

I have found a remote with the 5 pin plug and want to know if it will work.
Cheers
Paul.

Just wire a switch in the front as well. Then you wont have to worry about a hand controller. I did this on mine, with an isolater switch in the cab so people couldnt come along and use it when I didnt want them to.
