to be honoust dude! throw it away and invest in a Redarc for around $99 on ebay! it will save you alot of heartache and it all outmatic! no switching over of batteries or whatever just hook it all up and your off! ive been running mine for over a year and no probs at all and i know of people who have been running them longer and no probs! just an idea anyway trying to help!

Has nice features like being able to wire a switch in the cabin to bridge the batteries for easy jump starting / extra grunt when required. (you can also add a remote monitor light in the cabin for peace of mind )
I rang the igintion wire through to ignition on steering column. Fairly easy to poke through that big factory grommet next to brake booster. Can't remember what colour wire, but if you have a multi-meter it's easy enough to work out.
Another wiring option would be to pick off the wire from the oil pressure SWITCH and feed that into the BASE pin, via a 10kOhm Resistor, of an NPN transistor. Connect the COLLECTOR to one side of the solenoid coil, and the EMMITTER to EARTH. Connect the other solenoid coil to positive/igintion wire. This way the batteries are only in parrallel once the engine is running.
