Need Electric Speedometer info

Post by NathanC »

Hello all,

I working on swapping a Jeep NP231 transfer case into my '94 Montero SR with V4AW3 transmission.

A little info can be seen here:
http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat. ... 14&fpart=1

The transfer case will bolt up to the V4AW3 provided that you use a tail housing from a Jeep AW4 tranny. The splines between the transfer case and transmission shaft are the same, but the tail shaft of the V4AW3 appears to be longer than the AW4. I think this problem can be solved by using a spacer and a different length input shaft on the t-case.

Now that I'm pretty happy with the fitment, I would like to turn my attention to making the electric speedometer work with the NP231.

I need to find a wiring diagram mainly. I have the engine, chassis, and elecrical manuals but none of them discuss the speedometer system.
