80 series diesel tacho??

a mate has just pulled his 1hz out of his 80 and put a 6.2 chev diesel in it an now the tacho doesnt go...

he was told that it picked up of the alternator??

but his alt looks the same as the one in my 4.5..

any ideas boys??

The tacho on a 1HZ picks up from the injector pump. Dont know where the chev one gets its signal from

U need to go and look on the marks adapters web site...they do interfaces...

The 6.5's Chevs had a reluctor ring behind the front crank balancer that sent 4 pulses/rev and was used for the EFI system on the 6.5. Im sure the 6.2 has none of this so a tacho might be more difficult.

I have a base model 80 and my tacho (after market) runs off the alternator.
I bought my adaptor from a local suppler in Brisbane, (I can't rememerb the name but I'll look for the reciept if you need it), I have never had a problem with it. Was a fair bit cheaper than what Marks wanted as well.
My Cruiser is Environmentally Friendly.

It runs on recycled Dinosaurs.

I diesel 80. Standard it didn't have a tacho so I had to fity a complete setup from guage to sender.
My Cruiser is Environmentally Friendly.

It runs on recycled Dinosaurs.
