Hi all,
My old 1983 model FJ60 started causing problems last night - at first it was missing intermittently, but soon was jerking badly. When I pulled over, it seemed to idle OK. Then when I set off again, it was the same only worse.
After a couple of km, it was too bad to drive any further. I left it in a side street and got a lift home.
I'm heading back tonite to try a rescue mission. I am thinking that the problem is fuel related - shi##y fuel, clogged fuel filter or maybe a crook fuel pump. I am planning to change the filter and see if that helps. I will have a good look over the ignition as well.
ADVICE PLEASE:
Can anyone suggest likely causes and fixes for my problem?
Thanks in advanc',
Mike

haha. oh well. Now how do we prove beyond all reasonable doubt that it wasnt really a point gap issue.
Tell ya what, since I'm such a trusting person I'll shout ya an icy cold corona if you come out on a trip that I'm on. And if I'm feeling really generous I might throw in a twist of lime to go with it.
Glad u got it going.
