Hi flow injectors for 4.5 GU petrol

Post by RN »

Mate has a turbo Gu 4.5 petrol. He is concerned that the current injectors may be too lean at boost.

any ideas on the best type of injectors that can be substituted and what is the flow and electrical capacity of each.

cheers

Is it to lean on boost? does it ping? best to give it a dyno run and check A/F ratio, then see what to do, Standard ECU?? tried rising rate reg??

Ok, my mate got back from Griffith on Friday and I put the questions to him. It doesn't ping, it has a piggyback ECU, but it has a history of being too lean in the past. Heat has always been suspect and he would prefer it to be on the rich side. Has lost faith with the original turbo fitter and tuner.

He believes that it should have 555cc injectors , side entry type of 10 to 14 ohms resistance. If this is of not much value I can forward his email via a PM.

I hear that the nissan GTR injectors fit straight into a tb42e fuel rail. If the tb45 has the same or similar rail then he may be in luck.
Has he tried using a rising rate fuel reg???

Let me know how this all goes as i will be in a similar boat soon. What piggy back ecu does he use?

tb42 & tb45 are not the same injector type. tb45 are side feed things.

If he wants to go down this route there is some that will fit I just can't remember from what car. Maybe a skyline or something?

Prolly a good injector clean/supply mob would be able to help here.

Another option would be to get a fuel injector rail made up to use much cheaper top feed style injectors like the older style.
Would be a multitude of options for injectors then.
