I take it funds are dependent on selling tyres but is there any way to do all the fab work (to keep the engineer happy) on another chassis so at least you can keep wheeling till things are sorted then just do a final setup on your zuk.

Bummer .. sorry to hear that NAM .. full points for effort on your behalf though .. hopefully you have not sold off to many parts yet .. so you can keep wheeling until they (engineers) come to their senses :D

What reason\reasons did he give ... was it width, weight, chassis strength or more to do with suspension design ??

it was basically chassis strength. the sierra chassis, although quite strong, wasn't designed for coils or for really big heavy diffs

yeah he said anything like a hilux or bigger would be okay.

at the moment, the cost of buying a good running hilux, building it up, rebodying it, etc... would be much to prohibitive. down in vic, hiluxes are quite expensive for some reason. :?

i'm considering a 2dr rangie...

but i'm going to go to 33 muddies and keep wheeling the zook for the time being.

That would be cool and you should be able to pick up an oldie for a good price. Those axles would be perfect under a rangie sized vehicle.

Good luck with it and have fun in the meantime wheeling the (relative) stocko. There is much fun to be had in any 4b.
