my 80 series sliders

Don't think there is much chance of you bending them. I made a set for mine, similar in design, but I only used 1 length of 100x50x4mm RHS either side. I've got two legs back to the chassis, 50x50, and they have now done numerous offroad trips, and a winch challenge. I've jumped the car over rocks and had it land on the sliders and haven't bent them yet.
I've gotta make another set now that I've finished the body lift, and the only change will be to put 35mm pipe off the side for a step.
Well done, it's good to see people doing their own instead of just signing cheques.

Nice job, looks like there are going to be a few people copying your design (maybe me too!)
The exhaust has had me stumped for a while. How about a few pics of the chassis mounts while it is bolted up to the chassis. Including a close up of the one around the exhaust.

Would be very much appreciated,

Sorry guys. Had to say it - i'm a bit of a Patrol fan. Good work on those sliders scottmcguinness172. Can't wait for the rear bar work to start.

i dont have any of the brackets bolted up to the chassis sorry but all i used is 10mmx50mm plate the width of the chassis i can put some pics up if you want

Rock solid job on these sliders. Good effort.

Looking at all the effort required to accommodate the exhaust got me thinking though....

I am in the process of designing sliders for my 80, and it appears that I will need to move the exhaust first.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to straighten the exhaust out, running it down the inside of the chassis, gaining some engine performance and greatly simplifying slider bracketry in the process?

Any pros and/or cons of moving the exhaust first?

i found the exhaust bracket pretty easy i can soo run the exhaust down the inside of the chassis if i wish still but i cant wee why you cant move the exhaust first u might gain a little its all up to you

yea mate got em from target i went for a drive on the weekend and i hit the sliders but all good but i scratched the paint on them

i wont be able to start the rear bar for a while as im working away for a month and half them im goin to fraser for 2 weeks but i can handle that
