Hi want to find out best way to brace or laminate front diff. ie how thick plate and where, photos would be good thanks :D

for what vehicle? for what purpose? competition, hardcore offroad, rock protection or for jump/impact protection? to prevent bending? I think we need more information before anyone can help.

sorry about that range rover, compation,and impact protection as rovers arnt real strong :)

not a rover but ive gone a bit bigger than most on the truss 75 x5 SHS and the knukle braces are 12 i think now... they are fargen thick... 10 will be fine though.

when it had the radius arm mounts the bottom knuckle brace continued inline with the top/bottom of that.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

Remember not to weld it in one pass! Weld about an inch or so at a time and swap ends/sides of the bracing regularly or you can warp the housing

took me about 40 mins plus lunch :D do my truss, and then the knuckle braces were about 30 for all 4... the hardest thing is getting them right. dont clean all the grease and paint off the knuckles till your ready to weld as it makes it real hard to find where you can go to as i found out...after i realised that my braces were too big for the diff and the template they were cut off was for a GU which is bigger.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

The laminating gives it better smashing strength especially around the crown wheel and the bracing gives the jumpimg and pounding over ruts strength so I would do both in certain areas.
