GQ series 1
Yellow gauges
Long gearbox shifter with small knob
Seating position lower
Rear lights in body only

GQ Series 2
Green gauges
Shorter gearbox whifter with a larger knob
Seating position higher (In mine at least)
Rear lights in body and bumper
Indicators in side of front guards behind front wheel

That is all I can think of at the moment.

My 92 series 2 has EFI, Sway bar release, bigger front brakes, slightly different auto to early ones, and an engine oil cooler. I think later tb42's (maybe 96 ish?) don't come with the oil cooler, as I have bought a motor from the wreckers to put in mine, and it doesn't have it.

Another huge difference I thought of. GQ 1 centre rear tow point is horizontal and on the GQ 2 it is vertical :D

I have an August 1997 GQ and my rear tow hook is Horizontal. No factory diff locks on mine thought or sway bar release. Nissan gave away the factory Diff lock in favour of side lights that come on with the indicators when the headlights are on to light up the kerb side..... I think I would have been happier with the diff lock.

GQ1 should have a bolt on braket to reinforce the steering box / panhar mount. the auto's are slightly different. Drag link is different. GQ1 has better motor for high boost turbo systems.
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)
