Okay im up to the turbo faze of the GQ ute. Done a bit of research through JPC and dont mind the sound of the kit for 8k. moded TD05, pump work, airbox, custom snorkel...etc. 220kw approx. Does anyone out there have anymore info on Good buisnesses in VIC (melb to the east coast) who do good turbo work for comp trucks. Looking for about that power figure...

I've done a number of them, 1Hz, TD 42, TB 42, Gen 3, 4cyls, VL's, Ford 6cyl, rotaries, I started with fast cars at Gasresearch and then G@D before going to PGS when they bought the 4WD dyno.
Are those figures at the wheels? That seems to be a big stretch on a stock motor. Aaron at ATOC split the bore with that sort of power, you really need to drop the comp, HPC coat internals and put a camshaft in if if you want big figures as the combustion pressures are massive and the exhaust temps are hot hot. I'd suggest 150 rear wheel kW would be PLENTY on a stock engine I wouldnt be prepared to stick that much fuel into a stock motor.
I'd go a roller bearing turbo as well for quicker spooling.
I did Hobze from Pro comps old GU, Henry Le Fever GQ petrol EFI, Adam's 80 Ute(engine and turbo, cooler)(vic winch 05 Ateco 06) my old GQ shortie on LPG and a heaps of non-comp vehicles.
I'd be happy to chat and I'm closer.

Is this a petrol or diesel you are looking to extract that power out of?
What exactly does the 8k get you? What power level do you need, have you been in a 220 kw patrol?

Yeah i thought 220kw at the wheels was a bloody big stretch on stocko internals and no compression drop. Thats why id thort to post here first. I know exactly what it's like to pour big $$ into petrol ebgines but diesel is abit new to me..
I think JPC may not be on the money with that call.
Gimme some options guys. The turbo work has to be done for comps but she has to be reliable!!! Money is in the account and waiting....

A TD05 is not a roller, its a 360 degree thrust floating bearing Mitsubishi turbo as DTS use in their bolt on kits, If guessing I would say that JPC would be puttin g a larger comp wheel in as thats what I'd do, but for the cost, I'd rather the faster spooling roller bearing turbo.
