Fitting Swift Gti Seats into Sierra

Post by suki91 »

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know how to fit a Suzuki Swift Gti 94 seats into a Sierra 90 WT. I have seen this done before but not really look at it that much. I'm fitting for a friends Sierra tomorrow. And also, does any1 know if i can fit a VW Golft GTi Recaro seats into a Sierra? I found some good Recao factory seats from a GOLF (dunno wat year) that i wanted to fit into my own Sierra 91 WT. Will it bolton strait to the factory rails?? I also wanted to ask i end up using the fasctory rails, is there any ways i can modify or get someone to weld something where the seats bolts into. I think at the moment the seats are attached by 10mm bolt on the floor. Is this strong enough or can i modify it to accept bigger bolts? (will be approved by an engineer?) Thanks advance for the help and sorry for the all the questions.

I've got mk1 (1988) swift gti seats in my 1989 sierra and they almost bolt straight up. If you have the seats handy already just trial fit and see what needs doing. I think at most to fit mk1 seats you need to drill maybe one or 2 holes and fit a new bolt but it's pretty straight forward. I'm not sure about mk2/3 seats though as they are different.
