I have just cookedthe motor in my GQ RX2.8T
Any body got any advice on Repair/replacment/alternative motor that does not cost arm and a leg?

cheapest will be another 2.8..should be cheap as chips at wrecker.

have you pulled your donk down to see what damage?

i don't know, but i'll buy your diff ratios off ya when you start parting it out.....
88 td42 gq. 2" body & 3" OME, 36" beadlocked 'pedes, ARB winch bar mod'd for body lift, rear locker.....

just bight the bullet mate 4.2 CONVERSION took me 6 days and dont worry about 2.8td any more the old 4.2 is a very robust motor will go for yonks and then save for a TURBO pm me for more info :D

What he said...

just need td42, gearbox and driveshafts, and the rear centre yoke and you're set.
custom bar work, 4x4 parts, trailers, anything out of steel/alloy :D

I agree with the others, but what do you consider and Arm and a leg??

You maybe better off buying a cheap GQ complete, they go for round $3000 for the whole car with rooted body etc, but somtimes the motor can be a gem.

but a budget will help
