The gear box will bolt up to the 1FZ bell housing but the 1FZ/1HDT box has a 14 spline input shaft to suit the larger 300mm (12') clutch (3F is 275mm(11') 10 spline ) The later boxes also have the twin syncro's on 1st and 2nd gears as the early boxes were knochy so they made the mod to make them shift better.
