hey guys i have a 1.3 litre suzi with a turbo bolted on the side of it suposively its a bobcat turbo but it was only running 5 pound boost with the controls wound right up but on the weekend the adjustment toggle fell apart and now its running a stupid amount of boost, i can drive it to ablout 10 pound and it runs fine but have to short shift through the gears but if it goes any higher pre-ignition starts happening, just wonder how long until it blows up haha, and why couldnt i wind it up to that amount of psi before it fell apart?

your wastegate is probably not operating at all now
fix it fast before you grenade that motor . those lbs boost require some serious motor and fuel to run properly
85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers,ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.

Driving it as is i'd give it a few days before you do the headgasket or piston ring. It sounds like its just free-boosting ie. the wastegate isn't opening at all.

Did you build this car or buy it? Ive been told of it before. its a hard top cut down into a ute yes?

sounds like the line going from the compressor housing to the wastegate is cut/split so your car is boosting to atmospheric pressure.

Dont drive the car like this. dont let the boost build above what it was tuned to (5psi). Anything over that can blow your motor if you dont have the right air/fueling. also the extra pressure on the internals and h/gasket will probably break something.

yeah mate thats then one little orange zook cut into a ute, its just my daily driver because i dont want the cops to cathc me with the cruiser on the road theyd bend me over and ass rape me for having 36's on the road haha, but yeah it was the actual boost control that fell apart, just going to put a new one in, so far shes been going like that for 2 weeks i dont over rev it and short shift before it gets to about 10 pound boost,

the boost will come on with load, not revs! pull your foot out as the boost come up big fella. but it sounds like the boosted line to the WG has come off. A low comp 1.3 zook motor will take a bit to pop.. but ide not be boosting it up to 20 less u enjoy pulling things apart
