Go for a bigger 3" dump, followed by a 3" mandrel bent exhaust - no mufflers.

Will cost from $900 up to $1800, supplied not fitted. I run an MTQ and find it is built well, is modular (not two piece) which allows for more flexibilty for mods, and it was shit easy to put in ie. all of the mounts lined up and it fitted up more snug than the factory unit.

anywhere around 1200 fitted for a 3" mandrel bent system, its the first step in getting decent power from your TD42

Another 400  odd for a 3" dump pipe...

You should buy 1000 of them and sell them for what everyone else pays for them, and retire. Neat $700 profit on each one...

You can probably get the right flange for the turbo, but getting the right exit angle is tricky. I'm pretty sure i have to make a dump for mine, however dumbdunce has had success with the same turbo i'm using paired up with the factory dump (the combination is off another vehicle).

At the end of the day, unless you have the equipment to fab one, it's a lot quicker and easier to just buy a bolt on system thats already been tested/proven.

bogged, dump pipe was from beudessert exhausts and the rest was made local. but i know the guy so it was basically cost.

but seriously, i think anything over about 7-800 for a full mild steel mandrel exhaust without mufflers is a total rip off.

Depends on your turbo placement.

I can fit one on mine, though the turbo is after market and it will sit a bit closer to the firewall than I would like (40-50mm)

anything over 300 or 400 for ANY system with no mufflers is complete rip off.

Is this on a ute?

I thought it was illegal to have an exhaust finish under a vehicle?

By finishing just before the diff your pipe will be about 1/3 shorter than normal and you havent got the hard bit with all the bends; hence the cheap price.
