8" front diff

Post by ezz »

Hello to you all, just joined and found this site very usefull,

but got a question for you,

i've got a L200 i'm trying to find a 28 sline 8" front diff so i can run a ARB in it,

drove 150miles yesterday to pick up what i thought was what i'd been looking for,

it was 28 spline and the right ratio 4,875 but when i got it home it was a 7.25" diff,

i thought all the 28 splined diff's were 8"

Welcome to the board as long as your not a Dipper supporter
No mate their not.
Earlier low pinion 7.25" front diffs were 25 spline later ones were 28 spline.
As far as I can tell the change was made around the late 80's / early 90's.
The good news is that all 8" front diffs are 28 spline :D
I just luv my "clacker Jabber"

Does the RD110 fit the 8" 28 spline or 7.25" 28 spline?

Cheers scott, thought so,

just taken the 7.25" 28 spline back, which came out of a 2.5 manual,

the guy had a front diff front a V6 manual which was 8" 28 spline 4.875

so we did a swap, so i've now got the right diff, time to get the ARB fitted.
